Yellow Dresses - inspired by the
celebrities
Since Kate Hudson wore a yellow gown in "How To Lose A Guy
in 10 Days", wearing long yellow gowns is more
popular than ever.
Of course, as the color of sunshine, it's associated with
joy, energy & happiness. No wonder it's a
favorite color for bridesmaid dresses, particularly for spring
or summer weddings.
Yellow is a great color for attracting attention - so
perfect to wear for the woman who wants to get noticed.
Kate Hudsons dress was a simple long sheath style dress, in
silk satin, with a simple belt just below her waist.
It's perfectly easy Hollywood inspired gown that you can make
at home if you're a competent seamstress, or buy in dozens of
stores, where they've used the style for inspiration.
By contract, in 27 Dresses, one of the best of the
bridesmaid outfits she gets to wear is a short yellow dress,
with a pink sash, with matching yellow shoes, bag and
gloves. Oh yes, and even flowers in her hair!
Although all the outfits are supposed to be horrid, this is
definitely one of the best looks in the movie.
Yellow is a fresh color so looks great on younger women - so
is perfect for girls to wear on prom night or for
homecoming, occasions which are traditionally full of joy.
For younger girls at parties or as
little bridesmaids or flower girls, pastel yellow
dresses will complement almost any wedding theme color and
look fresh and cheerful.
Or choose a pretty pale or patterned fabric for a special
outfit for your toddler or little girl at Easter time.
The reality is that there are shades of yellow
(primrose, pale, lemon, flax, citrus, deep ochre to
saffron) to suit everyone and styles for every age and
shape.
If you don't like the idea of plain yellow, try a fabric
with dots or stripes, or use contrasting colors for
effect. Or team a pretty apricot outfit with a lemon
color jacket for a sunny look.
