Inspiration from the 2010 -
2010 Designer Collections
So, just what styles are the ones that we're going to see
this season?
Apparently the eighties big shouldered look is back, Joan
Collins eat your heart out! So watch out for puffed
shoulders on jackets & dresses.
For those who prefer a more classic, elegant
look, 1930's inspired shapes featured in a number
of designer collections, including
Armani. The focus here is on chick, timeless
elegance.
If you've been enjoying the bolder summer prints, then look
out for even bolder prints this winter, with all over prints
being an option for the bolder fashion-minded miss.
Tweed, though timeless, has been updated with a real chic,
trendy look. There's also an element of the
military , with smart practicality, reminiscent of
the thirties again.
Several collections, including Stella McCartney, featured a
soft feminine leather look, worn as jackets, leggings or
even long gloves.
Finally, if you're a denim lover and can't do without your
jeans, try wearing a sleeveless denim jacket for the
latest look.
Winter Cocktail & Party
Dresses - Latest Trends & Fashions
The latest trend from the couture and designer
collections is that velvet is back,
and is reborn as one of the hottest fashions .
Check out the collections of Marc Jacobs, Betty
Jackson, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, to name a few, to see
their fabulous ruched cocktail dresses.
Designers such as Stella McCartney created a soft
feminine look with silk dresses and evening wear, with
velvet hems on almost sheer fabrics looking stunning.
The ruched cocktail dress is the little something
fabulous for a party that many women will be wearing this
season. Be careful where you wear those ruches though, as
it needs to flatter your figure not enhance the bits you'd
rather hide.
Winter Wedding Gowns
Designer Vera Wang right calls the wedding
dress "the embodiment of a dream". Her fall 2009
collection is really a fairy tale princess with her well
known elegant style with a distinctive twist.
Gowns this season may feature a touch of colour, but with
plenty of tulle and luxurious fabrics draped elegantly in
asymmetrical style.
For a classic look, wear a winter white gown wrapped in a
fur trimmed cloak - a fabulous look for any bride getting
married close to Christmas.
For your bridesmaid, choose dresses that are pale colour
evening dress styles that they can wear again - see the Vera
Wang collection for inspiration.
