White and Cream Dresses & Gowns

Traditionally associated with wedding days, white and cream can look equally at home at a prom or formal event. 

Every since Marilyn Monroe appeared in that stunning white dress seen on so many posters, it's been a color of inspiration, symbolising femininity for women everywhere.

From the perfect look for either spring or summer on the beach, white dresses have a clean look, perfect to show off beautiful skin.  

To show off your summer tan try wearing a pretty lace style dress or sleeveless top with slimming white shorts.

For formal gowns, one of the most striking looks is the long halter neck dress - or a floor length sleeveless gown.

If white is a shade that drains the color from your face, try off-whites or cream as they may be more flattering, whilst having the same effect. 

Another great look for warmer weather is polka dots,  it's a classic look that never seems to age.

Add a touch of colour such as pink or red with hair accessories, a vintage belt or brooch or elegant earrings . 

What about footwear?  For the beach, wear fun coloured pumps or Havaianas, or for more formal occasions wear simple court shoes or stunning sandals with a mega heel to show off your legs and ankles.

The only time when it is definitely inappropriate to wear white is when you are a wedding guest - any color but black or white is OK, even a combination of the two.  However, it's the perfect color for a pretty young flower girl to wear.
