Perfectly Pretty in Lace DressesPretty dress with inset being laced up at rear

A lace dress is a classic for any woman's wardrobe, and is uniquely sexy.

When choosing a lace dress, make sure that you choose a simple, or dark colour. Wearing brightly coloured lace dresses looks far too 1980's (of course there are a few exceptions).

Lace dresses look their best when worn with a short hemline to a cocktail party, it oozes intelligence and a classic glamour.

Black is Always Classic

Black lace dresses span time, especially in a fitted shape. Fitted lace dresses are the best kind, as too much lace can look frumpy.

Ruffles of lace on dresses are reminiscent of The Wedding Singer, so unless this is the effect you are going for, be very careful with the quantity of fabric you wear.

Match Your Accessories

Choosing shoes to go with the outfit is simple with this style, as you only need to match the colour. Wearing completely matching lace covered shoes is a no-no. Go for some satin heels in your favourite style, for example, round toe or pointed.

Picking out complimentary accessories can also be tough, but try to match the colour and quality of the fabrics with your shoes. A cute headband, and some diamond earrings will compliment a lace dress perfectly.

Choose a hairstyle that is simple and elegant, and don't choose a style that is too big, as this will make the look seem like too much.

Of course, you can choose a laced dress that is not completely covered in this net-like fabric. Instead you could have a small lace panel inset as a bustier, or just a small mini lace detail on a corsage like attachment to the gown.

Always choose a lace dress that is only one colour, rather than multicoloured, but add accessories for a splash of nright color such as pink or red.

This can look chic and sophisticated, and highlight your beautiful choice of dress.
