Flower Girl Dresses
Being a flower girl is every little girls
dream!
So, once the excitement has died down of being asked by the
bride-to-be to be her flowergirl, there's months of excitement
to cope with before the wedding day !
Your little princess will probably be thrilled about being
asked to be a flower girl and will be excited about getting a
pretty new dress to wear.
It's usual to dress flowergirls in simple pastel shades such
as ivory, cream, pale yellow, pink or lilac, though the bride
may choose any color she wishes to complement her wedding
theme. Fabrics can vary from cotton to silk, satin to tulle,
with fancy lace to enhance the simplest gown.
Who Pays for the Dress ?
Wedding etiquette suggest that it's the parents who pay for
the dress for their little angel - though it's usually the
bride who will choose it, in the same way as she'll choose the
bridesmaids dresses.
However, the bride will be expected to pay for the flowers
in her hair or circlet, as well as any other items such as
flower baskets, headpieces, cushions & pillows for rings,
etc.
It's as well to hope that the bride hasn't got big
ambitions, and will be happy to choose something pretty but
affordable for your little darling.
If you're a whizz at sewing, you could even suggest that you
sew her dress, after checking the fabric color & pattern
with the bride.
Finding The Perfect Dress
Many big stores keep a range of dresses &
clothing that are perfect for a little flower girls .
They'll also have a range of expensive shoes and sandals to
match - you can probably find something inexpensive and very
similar in your local shoe store, so be prepared to shop around
a little.
Another solution is to buy a simple party dress and add a
big bow in wide ribbon, for big effect as minimal cost.
This also means that your little girl can wear her dress
again, though she'll probably want to wear it every day for
several weeks after the wedding day anyway!
For the younger toddler or baby, the
parents will clearly have a lot of involvement and may be
concerned about how their child will handle being
centre of attention.
Don't worry, even
if she gets a little agitated or excited, most guests
will see it as cute or sweet and make
allowances.
This pretty
dress may be suitable for a wedding guest with a baby, as
it's the perfect babies formal outfit, when teamed with a
pretty pair of shoes.

Children's Dress Shoes
Many mum's who are getting married, like to have their
little ones wearing a special outfit.
Without going to expense, adding a smart pair of shoes can
really help to dress up a simple but smart outfit.
This is one area where you can economise, as they're only
likely to be worn for one special occasion, so buy something
that looks great, has soft leather or fabric, that can be worn
as play or smart shoes after the wedding.
