Beautiful in Black & White
Dresses
- striped, polka dot and
patterned
A black and white dress is the ultimate style statement. Its
chic, sophisticated and sexy. And also, monochrome is always in
fashion.
You can wear black and white dresses to almost any occasion,
especially a very formal event. The only dress you ought not to
wear black and white to is a wedding, as the colours look far
too unromantic.
Oscar de la Renta brought this back into his Spring 2009
collection, so wearing it will show that you're up on the
latest fashion trends.
Wear these gowns with black, white or silver shoes and some
silver jewellery. Do not add colour to the outfit at all, as
this will distract from the dress itself. Wear your hair down
or up, whichever feels more appropriate with the style of the
dress.
If you are having a wedding, and are thinking about what sort
of dress to put you flower girl in, a black and white dress can
look very cute. It is also a slight variation from the usual
baby pink dresses, that you so often see at weddings.
Black and white dresses look great with the
two colours separated, one half on the top and one on the
bottom, but more often than not they look better with some
sort of pattern.
You can find the distinctive colors of black/white in a polka
dot, in a stripe or in a flower pattern.
Be careful that you make the size of the pattern suitable for
your shape, so if you are petite choose a small print, and if
you are plus size, choose a slightly larger print.
